Nice bit of kit

I thought I would review this as I couldn't find any other reviews when I was researching it, so hopefully this will help. Firstly it arrived within 2 days of ordering even though I didn't specify express delivery, so full marks for that. On opening the box I found the tripod in a very well made carrying bag, but I will probably just carry it on the back of my Lowepro camera bag which it fits nicely onto. The tripod itself is made of aluminium, weighs only 1.58kg and comes with an Arca Style ballhead with built in spirit level and a quick release plate. The legs have twist style locking legs and can be adjusted quickly. They also lock at three different angles so you can get really low down if you like macro photography for example. There are two different length centre columns included, and a detachable spring hook to add ballast if needed. The full height of the tripod when fully extended is nearly 65inches, I am 5ft 7in so I can use it quite comfortably without doing so.One of the legs unscrews and attaches to the ball head unit so it can be used as a monopod. The tripod feels really stable, even when fully extended. It quotes a maximum load of 7kg, I have a Sigma 150-500mm lens which weighs in at 2.5kg and it holds it easily, both in terms of stability, even when fully extended, and also it does not move about on the ball head which holds it very firmly. There seems to be the same solid feel to it when used as a monopod I figure if it can cope with this lens then nothing else I use will be a problem. There are a few minor niggles, otherwise it would be a 5 star review. In summary this is a well made, quality travel tripod with seemingly little trade off in stability. I have cheaper, heavier tripods which do not have any more stability than this. Is does not have the overall build quality of say for example a Manfrotto Befree, but it is not as expensive, so I think you have to ask how much you are going to use it. I already have a Manfrotto monopod and a Velbon tripod, but I can easily see this replacing both of those, especially on days out and holidays. Would recommend
